Ron Arps

Artist's Resume

Ron was born in Pataskala, Ohio. He studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design, Parsons School of Design and SUNY Purchase. While enrolled at Purchase he also studied abroad at the Lacoste School of Art in France. After graduation he took a position as an assistant drawing professor at the Lacoste School of Art. The symbolist painters of Europe such as Gustav Klimpt and Egon Schiele have influenced much of Ron’s work. His use of vivid color and gold leaf in combination with the lush texturing and patterning create a sensual world for his beautiful female figures and atmospheric abstract works. One can get lost in the rich dreamlike world they inhabit.
