Statement & Resume
"The inspiration for the Motion Blurs body of work began with a series of photographs in motion, which captured an obscure feeling of space. I had taken them while driving in attempt to record a long journey during which my windshield had become a screen for ‘watching’ the passing world. Since that journey, I have focused mainly on making work that explores narratives in motion, warped by the camera’s inability to record fast movement and strong light. The idea of ‘motion stills’ is in itself ironic and fascinating because of the duality embedded in photographs, which present time elapsing activities. I am not interested in realism but in the mystery and distortion of a constructed reality."
