Ruth Templeton

Artist's Statement & Resume

In 1984, I began painting with acrylics.  Each painting is a new experience in shapes and colors.  I like to draw people in various situations.  This carries over to my painting, which is formalistic and figurative, portraying human forms juxtaposed with geometric shapes or architectural elements.  Some of my paintings and drawings are inspired by observations during my extensive travels.

My work can be found in private collections and has been in shows at the Rhodes Building, Columbus City Hall, and other venues, plus the Columbus Cultural Art Center, where I participate in a workshop.
