Karen Rumora is a professional artist and designer who specializes in landscape oil & encaustic paintings. She cofounded the design consulting company Rumora Studios with her husband Matt in 2012. Karen has a degree in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University and has been designing environments and painting for nearly 30 years.
Her award-winning landscapes are part of many private and public collections. She was recently awarded art commissions for the newly rennovated Lima Memorial Hospital and also the award winning retail space, PIRCH. Rumora was also the feature artist for the 2009 Much Love’s Animal Rescue “Howlywood” Fundraiser in Hollywood, California. She has participated in many activities for local charities including Art for Life, Art for Recovery and was The New Albany Symphony’s Feature Artist for 2009 and 2015. Karen is inspired during her excursions hiking and cycling through the rural Ohio countryside. She merges realism with abstraction by shifting and intensifying colors, simplifying form and creating a stillness verging on the surreal; engaging visual memories with future visions.
