About Ruth

Acrylic paint is my medium of choice. I usually use canvas as the ground but sometimes masonite to give me a different surface texture. I like to draw people in a variety of situations. This comes from my background of sketching conceptual designs for retail advertising. It carries over to my paintings which are formalistic and figurative. Important to me are human forms in a mix with architectural and geometric shapes. Some of my paintings are inspired by observations during my various travels.

My work can be found in private collections and besides Art Access Gallery, has been shown at
U.A. Bicentenial Celebration, Summit Chase Tower, Decorators Show House, Rhodes State Office Tower, Columbus City Hall, Columbus Cultural Art Center, the Garret in Lancaster, and other venues.
