About David

David Reed received a B.F.A. from the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) and then studied photography at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa where he earned an M.A. and M.F.A. After a brief stint as curator in the CCAD slide library, David pursued freelance illustration providing illustration and design for a diverse clientele including educational publishers, advertising and graphic design studios. He then served as a sta_ illustrator and graphic designer, _rst at Glencoe Publishing and later, Battelle, where he provided high-quality technical and creative illustration for a variety of business and marketing needs. David has taught as an adjunct instructor in the Digital Design and Graphics Department at Columbus State Community College while running various local workshops and classes in painting and drawing. David paints in oils and watercolor, and looks for subject matter in Ohio and surrounding states. He has exhibited extensively, both locally and nationally, including the Mid-year painting exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio and has received awards in both the Central Ohio and Ohio Watercolor Societies.
